Miami Marine Stadium Museum Exhibit Grand Opening Thursday!

 

 

This week our affiliates at the Miami Marine Stadium in presentation with the Coral Gables Museum will showcase their new exhibit "Concrete Paradise",  which pays tribute to the history of the amazing Marine Stadium and raise awareness of the efforts to bring this historical location back to life. The official opening is this Thursday, October 17 at 7:00 PM in the Coral Gables Museum. Proceeds from the tickets go towards the restoration efforts. This will be an amazing night full of stories,cocktails, and even a few vintage hydroplanes that will be on hand

 

The display is curated by renowned author and architectural conservator, Rosa Lowing who has created a truly interactive exhibit that showcases the glory days of what was Miami's most daringly modern structure and brings it back to life through stunning video footage, rare photos, artifacts and much more. It will conclude with a special section dedicated to the stadium's next chapter featuring never before seen site renderings and opportunities for museum visitors to share their vision for the structure's future. 

 

This special exhibition is being presented by American Express, the Coral Gables Museum and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Tickets available at the friends on the Miami Marine Stadiums Official Site, event opens Oct 17,2013 and runs until January 5th, 2014. Official exhibited trailer featured below:
