(Photo courtesy of the Tickfaw 200 Media Crew) The swamps of Louisiana were host to a large number of poker runners this past weekend for the annual Tickfaw 200 event which has grown huge in numbers over the last couple years as the unique scenery and water ways make for an exciting challenge for the boats who come out in all styles of rides. A despite past rumours that waters were going to be to low for this years run mother nature tuned in recently bringing them to higher levels late last month in time for this years run. With some perfect weather in the 80 degree range runners saw an ideal weekend on the water for fun in the swamps and not only were boat numbers up for this years run the event also drew in a large number as spectators to blood river marine to get a glimpse of the action and join in the craw fish festivities. Fun, partying, speed and excitement was the key to last weeks 2016 Desert Storm Poker Run and Shootout that brought out thousands of boating enthusiast for a week in Havasu only a few weeks after some bad forest fires almost devastated some key watering holes. With the street party as always starting the events fun many new boats and exotic rides lined the streets for some up close look at the boats the event was sure to be an amazing one. Although for one attended as most have over the interest these past few days didn’t go as planned when a gorgeous MTI burned down to the water line after some issues thankful no one was reportedly hurt during the incident. The poker run was as always a great success with runners taking over the lake and thousands of spectators watching the boats hit up key spots to pickup their cards.
