This March vintage boat racers headed out for the 2016 Spring Regatta to bring in the new year and as expected this spring regatta was the largest in CRA (Classic RaceBoat Associations) history with more outboard, hydroplanes and skiffs than ever before. Several new restored boats were displayed for the first time as well including the latest addition to our BoatStars Vintage Race Team "Red Bird" our second Switzer Wing to join our lineup making for a truly special time as four wings took to the water for the first time since the early 70's as well as making some history with our CEO Chris Boyd and Vintage Team President Ted Boyd running together for the first father and son wing run ever. This event is a must attend for any history buffs as some of the most well known names from the sport can be seen hanging out and joining the action including greats like Bill Seebold, Bill Sirus, and Gene Letham to name a couple. Summer is coming and the Performance Boat Club is getting prepared for their season to start in a few months with the release of their 2016 schedule which includes 5 usual stops across Ontario starting with the Gravenhurst run in June. This clubs sees some of the fastest and exotic boats from all over Canada joined by American members as well coming together to run the picture perfect water ways Southern Ontario are well known for. From Outerlimits including Team Gotta Go's record breaking machines to all kinds of big power Nor-Techs, Fountains, Skaters and everything else you want to see running hard taking over the lake to help local charities and causes. Our crew will be on hand for some of their fun with a few of our rides this season bringing highlights and footage from the action. Full schedule available below.
