Big Day for Mercury Racing At The Opening Of The 2014 Miami International Boat Show

As Mercury Racing continues to celebrate their 70th birthday they also celebrated some other big news this week with the release of a new Mercury Racing logo and some new products. Along with the introduction of the new logo they were proud to debut their latest power plant and drive at the 2014 Miami International Boat  Show a brand new 540 Sterndrive built on an 8.6L power plant which they have designed to replace the well recognized 8.2L 525 EFI.  

This motor was designed from the ground up to simply out perform the 525 in almost every way possible from power to reliability. The new 540 has been reported to provide 13 percent more torque for an additional 50 ft-lb of peak torque on top of it 525 counter  part all well running on pump gas. Along with the new engine the team also showcased a new Bravo One XR Sport Drive which the design team removed two inches from the standard bravo along with some other modifications to create a shorter drive with improved performance capabilities along with improved cooling capabilities via a dual quick water pickup system which they say is a perfect match up to the 540.

The guys at Mercury Racing have been busy along with the new engine and drive the team also released many other new products this week including new graphic Options for their 520 model along a new and Joystick piloting system for dual engine control of the engine as well. Also the team announced the release of a reengineered M8R drive which will be on the market this spring.
