Mercury Marine decides to switch things up as they name a new company president. It has been confirmed the Brunswick Corporation has promoted Christopher Drees to president of Mercury Marine as awhole. Drees was former president of marine parts and accessories replacing John Pfeifer who is said to have chose to leave the company to pursue other opportunities.
A surprise in offshore racing for teams from Race World Offshore as they announce they will be hosting the Key West World Championships this year. The organization has released the following press release. Race World Offshore (RWO) has won the evaluation by the City of Key West for the 5 year contract to run the November World Championship races by overtaking Superboat and P1/OPA. “We scored better than the rest of the field and now the City Council just needs to make it official with a final vote to accept the commission’s recommendations when they meet in early May.” said Larry Bleil, President of RWO. “I am glad to be back, I contracted these Key West races for many years and I could see how SBI was fading and not bringing anything new to the table. The race teams, fans and community are going to be delighted to have RWO running the show in a very upbeat and proactive manner.” Bleil added.
The reveal of Sharjah Team colours took place at today’s press conference at the world’s largest trade and tourism show attended by HE Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, HE Khalid Al Midfa, Chairman Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), H2O Racing Senior Vice President, Lavinia Cavallero and Sami Selio. “We are very pleased to be the sponsor of a team in the prestigious UIM F1H2O World Championship,” said HE Ali Salim Al Midfa, “SIMSC has been established for four years and we work closely with Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority in organising many events in powerboat racing and jet ski racing and the next natural step was to support a team. “We know Sami very well he is a top competitor so we started discussion last year and now Sharjah Team is a reality and it gives us a wonderful opportunity to promote Sharjah as a top tourist destination at events all over the world.
