The Alpha Centauri company from the UK has built this unqiue 27’ hull dubbed as a luxury hydroplane which they report was designed using cutting edge computational fluid dynamics software. Despite only having a top speed of almost 70 mph with 2000hp pushing the hull via jet drives the boat is said to be extremely stable with great acceleration. The cockpit canopy opens completely to allow passengers access well providing protection from the elements and a cool look well the interior is done in high end styling with digital gauges and full sound system, its even includes air conditions or heat features. The boat is available with several different power packages from 500hp to 2000hp providing some options were hoping that the company might be able to get a bit more speed out of the hull after more testing and design updates but the future could be promising for this design.
Six years in a row the Cigarette Racing Team has partnered up with Mercedes-Benz for a custom build and today they unveiled at the Miami International Boat Show a 41’ SD GT3 powered by twin Mercury Racing 1100's which Cigarette reports to be their most powerful and possibly fastest concole boat to date. The boat is on display alongside the car it was inspired by the fast Mercedes-AMG GT3 race car which you can definitely see the inspiration come from. Today is the first day of the Miami Show which has become the worlds number one boat show featuring all types of boats on hand from around the world and includes more high performance builder in one spot than anywhere with many brand new models on display as always.
