OPA 2014 Lake Race Set to Be A big One!

With a tough National Series season opener this past weekend for OPA the teams now are looking forward to the weekend of June 6-8th, 2014 which OPA will head out to the well known Lake of the Ozarks for whats known as the 2014 Lake Race for round 2 of their 2014 National schedule. This area of North America is home to some die hard powerboat racing fans and with this in mind this weekend of Offshore racing brought to lake is set to be one exciting weekend with whats set have a large turn out of fans and teams from across the country heading out to join in the action. This years 2014 Lake Race is proudly presented by 2 major sponsors Mountain Dew and Formula Boats of Missouri who have helped bring this racing action to the heart of the Ozarks. It all starts on Thursday June 5 with the teams arriving to the race village alongside the Lake Race Props and Hoses Poker Run and continues with the Lake Race Street Party on the Historic Bagnell Dam Strip on Friday, finishing up with a weekend filled racing with all classes confirmed to be running on Saturday and Sunday.


OPA Racing also is offer class prize purses of over $35,000 and in addition to the regular class racing, the “Run What you Brung” will be ran which has an additional $40,000 purse that will payout up to 5th place. The class has a $40,000 purse that pays back five places and races for two days with the combined points determining the finishing order. If you own a Canopy Vee or Canopy Cat with 30 plus feet, you are able to compete!

  • 1st Place - $18,000
  • 2nd Place - $10,000
  • 3rd Place - $6,000
  • 4th Place - $4,000
  • 5th Place - $2,000


With the tortoise and the hare style racing, you don’t have to be the fastest to win, you have to be the most reliable for the Saturday and Sunday races!
