Spirit of Qatar Ready to Battle it Out in Cocoa Beach this Weekend!

This weekend is expected to be a big one as a large number Super Boat teams are preparing for Round 2 of the 2014 season in Cocoa beach, which looks like will be featuring a heated SuperBoat Unlimited battle as the Spirit of Qatar Team is ready to kick off their 2014 Superboat tour this weekend as recently announced in an official press release this week informing fans that although his Excellency Sheikh Hassan bin Jabor Al-Thani and British throttleman Steve Curtis will not racing this weekend in their turbine boat the team will still have two of their 3 boats running including their #20 Superboat and #613 Superboat Unlimited machine powered by Mercury Racings new 1650’s as they aim to take down their rivals from Miss Geico.

Skeikh Hassan also commented on the teams plans for the season by stating “We are planning to do four or five races this season including the finale to the year in Key West,” also adding. “Steve and I will be running turbines in Al Adaa’am 96, but it seems we will not be ready for Cocoa Beach. We will continue to run the three Spirit of Qatar Team boats later in the season. Nasser has got the new 1650 engines in his boat now (Spirit of Qatar 613) and should be very fast this year.”

The team also confirmed their new QMSF luxury Cigarette VIP boat that was debuted at the Miami boat show is now ready and will appear this weekend in Cocoa Beach as the team support boat, So be sure to keep an eye out for this gorgous boat and for those of you who couldn't make it catch the live streaming action from this weekend via: http://new.livestream.com/sbi/cocoabeach2014
